Everchanging Life...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will...
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder everytime. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end...
Be afraid that it will never begin.

Happy Monday!

I guess the weekend kind of got away from me, its not that we did a whole lot, we didn't but I guess I wasn't in a big writing mood or posting mood...
We took the girls to the lake on Saturday but it was so windy and the water was so choppy that all we did was sit behind a big log and watch these three windsurfers try to get up on thier board... one guy finally did it and cruised across the lake at top speeds while the other two every time they would pull the sail up they would fall off the other side, it just had to be frustrating! The girls decided the lake was too cold and opted to go to Gram and Gramps to get in the hot tub instead..what would they do without grandma's hot tub...hehe!
Josh and I cooked some nice BBQ ribs on Saturday night and finally watched the movie " Failure to Launch" I thought it was good/cute ... Josh said it was OK... but he is more of an action guy...
Sunday we went to church... right by our house as they have a new young hip Pastor and we wanted to check him out, so far so good we liked him... then Kim came up for a few hours and we had a nice visit... awww lazy Sundays...
Today so far has been a sluggish Monday... aaaack Monday!
Anyway just thought I would post up and say hey .... hope you are all having a great day and if not hope the week is better!!! Lata G

Joy of Dandelions

The best handfull of flowers I ever received from Ryan when he was 5

To my son and fists full of dandelions...

I sure do miss my son, I can't wait til he comes home from Montana... I haven't seen his smilin' face for a month now and thats just a little too long for me...
I just know I am going to be one of those moms that has that empty nest syndrome when they grow up and move away from home...
We spend all this time raising our children so they can be well adjusted adults, so they live good and fulfilling lives ... basically teaching them to make it on thier own, then they leave and it's us who fall apart.... aaaack!
I still have 3 more years of highschool to go thank goodness... I need at least that long to prepare myself for him growing up... haha!
Beka is home right now but it sure is quiet around here without Ry... I miss the noise, the music, the mom can I drive... but I say a prayer for him everynight and at least we have the phone and internet...
It's funny cause you never realize the things our parents went through raising us and how much they really did love us even when we thought they were being "mean" ... The parent child bond is so huge... and it will never fade but it is only when our children have thier own children that they fully understand the extent of a parents love for them....
So here's to the good times , the hard times and the fist full of dandelions that are the most beautiful flowers a mom can ever receive!

As Rachel Ray always says YUM-O

I just watched David Letterman and the man of the hour "Johnny Depp" was on tonight... I still remember watching him on 21 Jumpstreet and sayin' he's going to be HUGE... I wasn't wrong! Just thought I would post a pic cuz well he still looks soooo fine and he's 43... man if we could all age that well... *sigh*

What a beautiful ride

Life ain't always beautiful... Gary Allan lyrics

Life aint always beautiful...
Sometimes it's just plain hard...
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart...
Life aint always beautiful..
You think you're on your way...
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day...

But the struggles make you stronger...
And the changes make you wise...
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time...

No, life aint always beautiful...
Tears will fall sometimes...
Life aint always beautiful...
But it's a beautiful ride...

But the struggles make me stronger...
And the changes make me wise...
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time...

No, life aint always beautiful...
But i know i'll be fine...
Hey, life aint always beautiful...
But it's a beautiful ride...
What a beautiful ride...

Cheers to Starbucks

All I can say is an iced frappe' right now sounds pretty darn good! If not for starbucks would America have this obsession with coffee and coffee houses? Well being a coffee nut my own self I give them kudos... granted it is much more cost effecient to brew your own at home but a coffee treat every now and then is sooooo worth your taste buds!
Once upon a time in the Wenatchee Valley I remember saying I should open one of those coffee drive throughs ... bad for me it was only a thought... since a year later they were all over and one in particular had opened 5 of them ... that was over 12 years back and she is doing quite well these days... I kick myself now! I know there are sooo many names out there but I would've called mine "Java Mama" since my kids were little at the time... hehe! Oh well I guess that wasn't my destiny! So if you are out and about today and it's as hot for you as it is for us grab yourself an iced coffee drink from any coffee shop and think of me!

Somebody turn down the heat we're melting!

A day at the lake and a regatta of sorts...

Josh and Beka

Hit 103 today... sizzle sizzle... too hot for me! I am good with 80's and 90's but once it hits the triple digits ... either leave me in water or sittin' next to a nice air conditioner ... so we grabbed our beach chairs and headed to the local watering hole (a lake not a pub)... sat the chairs in the water and stayed cool... watched a regatta ( a series of boat races) with small 2 person sailboats... bummer for them there wasn't much wind so didn't make for much excitement...we had more fun watching a guy take his beagle swimming.. hehe! We have a beagle so you can see our excitement there...lol! Anyhoo we never made the races we were too sunkissed and tired from the day so we came home and barbequed instead then watched a movie, which I proceeded to sleep through half. So the day is now over, the girls are crashed hard and I am heading towards dreamland my own self... Hope you all have had a nice Saturday! Peace.. G

Connor, Kendra and Beka

It is rare for one to find a treasured friend with whom to bind. A friend that's loyal, honest, true, but I found one when I met you. You're always there to give a smile, you've always gone the extra mile. So many times we've laughed and cried, you've always stayed right by my side.
So many memories we share.
Your friendship is beyond compare.
Worth more than silver, rubies, gold.
The gift I'll have when I am old.

You are my friend---My chosen!

Check out your local lake and beat the heat!

Kids at the lake!

Hot Hot Hot!

It's going to be a hot weekend... I hope you all have ways of beating the heat... as for me I will be driving pretty much all day today... but tomorrow I think we are heading to the lake, then maybe to the race track Saturday night...the North American Big Rigs will be there ( semi's) and well being Josh drives one... hence the racetrack! Anyhoo guess I better get ready to pick up Beka in Couer D'Alene.... Enjoy your weekend! Drink a nice tall lemonade ;) G

It's Hot!

It's hot!
I can't get cool,
I've drunk a quart of lemonade.
I think I'll take my shoes off
And sit around in the shade.

It's hot!
My back is sticky,
The sweat rolls down my chin.
I think I'll take my clothes off
And sit around in my skin.

It's hot!
I've tried with 'lectric fans,
And pools and ice cream cones.
I think I'll take my skin off
And sit around in my bones.

It's still hot!

Here's to good friends and a great cup of coffee

Friendship... The Best Things In Life

"Friends are like pillars on your porch. Sometimes they hold you up and sometimes they lean on you."

I had a great coffee chat with Brian this morning, my brother from another mother...hehe... then went and had a late lunch with Cheri... it was a beautiful day... my day off!
I didn't do any housework, I just talked to two of my closest friends..
I am so blessed in life to have the best people surrounding me. Sometimes we get so busy and preoccupied with everyday mundane things we forget to talk but I know they are always there and thats so comforting to know you have friends in your life that no matter where you go or what you do they are always there!
I have many many aquaintances in my life but I can count my closest friends on one hand... the ones that are there no matter what no matter when and for whatever reason!
Kim---she has gotten me through many a night of tears at many strange hours...I think we have gotten each other through a few of the hard times but its always nice to know she's there no matter what! Our daughters used to say they were twins as they were born only 24 hours apart and they are still the best of friends.
Rose---we go waaaaaaaaaay back , we have been friends, roommates, mad at each other, honest, watched each others kids grow up but she always makes me laugh and we can talk for hours and never be at a loss. Time can get away from us but once we get back together its like time never passed!
Cheri---I met her when I moved in across the hall from her in one of my first apartments about 20 years ago, since then we have been through a lot of changes in our lives but she has been ever constant in mine!
Brian---I call him my brother from another mother, I have known him now 7 1/2 years thats a long time for a friendship that started on the internet isn't it, I think we were destined to be friends, we have shared a lot been through a lot and yet our friendship still remains untouched. We shall meet in person one day... since he is only in California... we have talked on the phone many times but we are best at morning coffee chats, and long debates and funny stories...
Joshua---My partner in crime...haha! My closest companion, my strength, my lover, my man, the one that laughs at my jokes even when they are dumb, the one that tells me I am beautiful even when I look my worst, the one I want to be sitting next to in my rocker on my front porch when I am old and gray!
There are many things in life to be thankful for but I am most thankful for having friends that have stood the test of time and stood by me through the hard times and laugh through the rest with me, I am one lucky girl!

I hear the train a comin'

I'm in a Johnny Cash mood tonight... still takes me back to when I was a little girl... listening with my grandma or looking through her collection of music... good ol Johnny! For those of you that have never listened to Johnny or Waylon or Willie it's time you did! Even if you aren't a country music fan... Good Stuff!

Mary Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow

With silver bells, and cockle shells and pretty maids all in a row...

We started from a mound of dirt this year and it may not look like much but we worked hard to plant the perennials we have planted so far... more to come..

My Porch Flowers

10 things I love about summer

1.) No more snow!
2.) Planting a new garden
3.) Watching my flowers grow
4.) Hot days at the lake
5.) Summer barbeques
6.) Air conditioning
7.) Ice cream noses
8.) Spending time with friends and family
9.) Morning coffee chats
10.)Bike riding

Boogie

Boogie coming home!

I don't know where this day went... the work phone has been ringing off the hook, which is a good thing but doesn't leave much time to get anything done. Everytime I get started I have to run for the phone. I still found time to have a nice coffee chat with Bri ... and get the dogs all howling from me knocking on the wall and saying, "Who is it?" "Who is it?" silly dogs...
Beka Boo is coming home on Friday for 2 weeks... Ryan is working and didn't want to lose his job so he is staying his 6 weeks at his dads straight then coming home the last 3 weeks of summer... Boo really wanted to go to her softball awards dinner and party so she just had to come home!
I miss them both ... but well at least I get to hug one of my kids soon!!!
I just thought I would post up, one of these days when I am in a writing mode I just might write something of substance...hahahahaha... well one never knows now do they... then I will know if my family and friends really read this stuff...hehe! Love to you all...G

My Kids June 06

Chaos is a good thing

I have a case of insomnia tonight I just can't seem to sleep, I thought I would write but seem to have writers block too... Josh and the dogs are snoozin' just fine (lucky) !
I sure do miss my kids... divorce sucks for that reason, they are visiting thier dad in Montana and I as a mom know how important dads are to thier children even if he may not be a part of my life he needs to be a part of thiers so I would never take that away from him or them. Instead I sit here missing them! I must admit it has been quite peaceful around here lately but I have decided too much peace makes one crazy... I like the chaos, the door being left wide open for no apparant reason, the phone ringing off the hook, the music playing too loud from my sons room, thier friends always here, tripping over shoes , a skateboard or a softball mit that never seems to get put away. Chaos I have decided is a good thing it clears ones mind! Too much peace and quiet makes one crazy!
